We are very sorry to report that the Engineering Encounters Bridge Design Contest has been discontinued, due to the loss of our funding.
We wish to thank the millions of students and teachers who have participated in this project over the past 15 years. It has been a privilege to serve you.
Although the contest will no longer be offered, we hope to keep the Bridge Designer software available for download from this site for as long as possible.

The Bridge Designer 2016 is a free educational software package designed to provide middle-school and high-school students with a realistic introduction to engineering through the design of a steel highway bridge. It is available for download here and can be run on either Windows or Macintosh computers.
